2 brown onions, sliced

2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for brushing

1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

¼ cup parmesan, shredded for mixture

¼ cup parmesan, shredded for garnish/topping

Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 2
Heat oil in a sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and stir through the oil until they are fully coated. Spread the onions evenly in the pan and cook for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally (every 2-3 minutes) to prevent them from burning.

Once the onions have softened and browned, turn the heat down to low-medium and add balsamic. Stir through and cook for 4-5 minutes more.

Remove the pan from the heat and mix through ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese.

Heat up 2 Mission Original Super Soft Wraps in the microwave, as per packet direction.

Place baking paper onto a board or benchtop and place one wrap on top. Add caramelised onion mix, spreading the mix evenly, leaving a 1-2 cm space from the edge.

Step 7
Brush oil onto the edges and place the second wrap on top, pressing down on the edges to seal in the onions as much as possible.

Step 8
Place a small round cookie cutter into the centre of the wrap - this will be a guide for how far to cut into the wrap. Make 16 even cuts, stopping at the edge of the cookie cutter.

Step 9
To create twists, take 2 segments at a time and twist them away from each other, pressing edges to hold twists in place. Continue the step for all segments.*
Remove the cookie cutter and transfer the tart (with baking paper) onto a baking sheet or pizza tray.

Brush oil over tart and sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until golden in colour.
*Mission Tip - if the wrap is difficult to twist, heat it in the microwave for another 20-30 seconds to soften.
